A while ago I designed a few designs for a company working with Stirling Sports, they are finally finished, made up and on sale. Above is an image of one of the designs for a Rugby ball.
This is a website I was part of the team design. I lead on the graphic design, creative direction from Jo Petrie and Web Development & Design by Immanuel DeBeer.
The website is for Joma Wool, which is a company that creates premium wool products to export to overseas markets. They wanted to play on the New Zealand wine culture image.
Here is a piece of recent work. This logo is for a proposed brand. The TT is a reference to the parent brand. The S in the negative to the current name.
Two pages out of my ignition magazine, which generally was a failure on my part. So many things that were not thought about, what a magazine should be like, page flow, continuity, cover design, article cohesion... Good learning experience. Also, the above article was a great experience. Interviewing and researching about past graduates and then putting together everything from scratch.
A while ago we were asked to design of a book cover for 'My Penguin' (Penguin book's publish your own cover site). This is my Cover for Jane Austen's Emma. Looking back in retrospect the use of pattern, which I based off a Morris & Co fabric, is the wrong time period bad research on my behalf. There's many of the curves that need to be resolved and I always altered the chin and jaw.
This website design was done for 'ignition' CPIT creative schools magazine and various events such as the Ignition Exhibition, NASDA shows, Circo Arts shows, Pitch Fashion Show... It wasn't used in the end. But here are a few screenshots. It is done in dreamweaver just html with CSS.
This is a series to create awareness for a social issues. The advertisements are all directed to the bintoo.com (fake website), which is a site that would in theory connect people who want to support a good cause with other people as well as the charities.
The idea is based on that it is acceptable to support a cause such as Global Warming and not come off looking like a tree hugger or support Charities that help third world countries without being seen as a "Miss World candidate" if others are seen wearing the t shirts making videos with signs or what ever they use.
Then comes the action part, where you volunteer to help or donate to the cause.
The "but I'm not the only one" quote is taken from John Lennon's song 'Imagine'. The idea being someone would say "I want to slow down global warming....Some people say I'm just dreaming (Something along the lines of "Some say I'm a Dreamer") and the But I'm not the only one sign or t shirt would be there voice.
When looking at doing a logo for CPIT School of Art and Design, I wanted something that would represent creativity yet still remain a strong logo mark and fit into the usual logo requirements. Something that would be adaptable and could change.
Inspired by this trend of Block types work by Andrei Robu, Michael Bierut (MAD), Angus Hyland (Brand Spanking). I started to design a logo. Development here and earlier development (blog here) and the specific posts this one, this one and this one. Above is the logo in it's standard application.
By Lindsay Yee. This typeface is made up of purely semi circles the alphabet is at just the one size of semi circle, only at either 45, 90, 180 degrees. The extra characters have the added use of a small circle. The semi circles are an extension of the CPIT School of Art and Design logo also designed by Lindsay Yee. Advertising for Ministry of Education (fictitious assignment brief) to get youth to learn a language in high school. Aiming at tween market, by using things that are desirable to attract them also using vector illustration to help emphasise the target market. This was done in conjunction with fellow designer Stanley Lai.
